Often a piping system needs to be evaluated with a new pump in operation, and then evaluate after the pump performance has degraded. Using the approach outlined in this article you will be able to evaluate the piping system with both the new pump curve and the degraded pump curve without having to manually enter the degraded pump performance curve.
In the real world application a single pump is in the system. In the model we will have two pumps in parallel, one pump has the new pump performance data, and the other represents a pump in which the head has degraded due to wear.
First we will look at normal operation with the new pump.
Now to see the degraded pump operation we will close off the Design Case Pump and open the Degraded Pump.
