Key Highlights

  • Incorporated the calculation methods from PIPE-FLO® Stock 2007 as a licensed module to PIPE-FLO® Professional
  • Added the ability to calculate fluid properties of pulp suspensions and slurries based on the TAPPI standard TIP 0410-14 and the Goulds PulpFric program
  • Added the ability to model both stock slurries and other process fluids, including chemicals, in the same system model
  • Added new messages triggered by calculations in the PIPE-FLO® Stock licensed module
  • Added the capability to calculate the Specific Heat Capacity for liquids for table fluids and updated the ESI Water fluid table.

Improvements

  • Modified the Fluid Properties dialog to calculate fluid properties from a NIST fluid table, ESI or MKS fluid table, TAPPI Stock fluid table, or a user defined stock or custom fluid.
  • Added the capability to calculate the Liquid Specific Heat Capacity for table fluids. Table fluid files must be modified to add the coefficients for a polynomial equation that define the specific heat capacity of the liquid as a function of temperature.
  • Created more single click accesses from the Property Grid to dialog boxes for device design data fields
  • Expanded the image library of symbols for many of the devices utilized in PIPE-FLO® Professional

Calculations

  • Maximum velocity (Vmax) for pulp suspensions 
  • Adjustment to head loss calculation for pipelines with a pulp suspension fluid zone assigned
  • Adjustment to Valve and Fitting K factor for pipelines with a pulp suspension fluid zone assigned
  • Specific heat capacity (cp) for liquid fluid tables
