Program Bulletin Overview
Engineered Software has a thorough testing regimen, including automated and manual test procedures, to make all of our products as robust and error free as possible prior to release. If bugs do surface, which is inevitable in any software package, we feel that it is our duty to be as transparent as possible and inform our users of any potential problems. As issues emerge, we log them as Program Bulletins in our online knowledge base. These will include a description of the problem, extent of the effect and work-around solutions to mitigate the problem. Notifications and links to these program bulletins can be found on the Start Screen in PIPE-FLO and will be mentioned in the Monthly Newsletter.
There are 3 categories of program bulletins based on the severity and prevalence of the problem:
Category 1 is reserved for the most serious issues. This would be bugs that impact major calculations or significantly impact program usability. In the interest of informing as many users as possible, there will be an eye catching notification, specific to the issue, added to the PIPE-FLO Start Screen. Category 1 program bulletins will typically lead to a maintenance release of PIPE-FLO to correct the problem as soon as possible.
Category 2 represents lesser issues that affect a large number of users, impact a small area of the program or have an obvious workaround to achieve the same functionality. The program bulletin will be published and added to the list online in the Knowledge Base. A link to the list of current bulletins can also be found on the PIPE-FLO Start Screen. These issues are typically addressed in the next program update.
Category 3 bugs are minor problems that will not impact results or significantly impact usability. Cosmetic or spelling mistakes are typical examples of category 3 bugs.
