Extending supplied pipe tables: PIPE-FLO uses the name of the pipe table file as the pipe material name. If you require additional sizes to be added to the supplied pipe tables, make a copy of the table (see method below) with a different name, then make your changes to the copy. This will insure that you will not lose your changes with future upgrades of PIPE-FLO.
The Table Manager program (supplied with PIPE-FLO) is used to create, modify, and print the contents of the data tables. To start the Table Manager from any retail PIPE-FLO program window, select the Tools menu and choose Data Tables. The Table Manager should open up (see Figure 1).
Figure 1. The PIPE-FLO Table Manager
To manage the existing data tables (including pipe tables, valve/fitting tables, and fluid tables) click on the Table Management button. This will open the Table File Management dialog box (see Figure 2). Here you can copy and duplicate any existing tables, or you can rename or delete them.

To access the pipe tables and their data, close the Table File Management dialog box, and click the Pipe Tables button in the Table Manager. This will open up the Pipe Data dialog box. To customize a particular pipe table, open it by clicking the Open Table button at the top of the dialog box. Select the table you wish to work with and click Open. The Pipe Data dialog box will be populated with the data (see Figure 3).

- Enter or edit the Table Header information at the top of the dialog box. This includes the Table Name, the Standard, the Table Version number, the absolute Roughness value (in inches), and the Hazen-Williams coefficient. Figure 4 displays a guideline list of roughness values and Hazen-Williams Coefficients.

- To change the data from an existing pipe size, locate the pipe size in the Table Data section, select it and click the Edit button. The data is sent to the Size Data section at the bottom of the dialog box. To add a new pipe size to the table, proceed directly to the empty Size Data section.
- Enter or edit the Size Data information at the bottom of the dialog box. This includes the pipe Schedule, the Nominal Sizes (both US and Metric), the Inside pipe Diameter, and the Wall Thickness.
- Click the Save button to save the size data into the table.
- When you are finished customizing the pipe sizes, click the Save Table button on the right hand side of the dialog box.
- Close the Pipe Data table and exit out of the Table Manager. Your newly customized pipe table is now ready to be used in your PIPE-FLO projects.
