The Pipe Table for the Specification
No changes can be made to the pipe or valves in this pipeline.
This message indicates that a pipe size table is missing, and the user is not able to modify the design of this pipeline. The user can calculate the system, print all reports, and modify the design of other system pipelines and equipment.
Pipe size tables provide sizing information for the various pipe materials and are stored external from the Piping System file. A standard set of pipe size tables is installed with each copy of PIPE-FLO, and the user has the ability to create custom tables for other pipe materials.
This missing pipe table condition occurs when a user sends the Piping System file to another user, and does not include the custom pipe table that was used to build the system. If there is no need to modify the pipeline design, the condition can be ignored.
If the user needs to modify the design of pipelines in this system, the custom pipe size table must be obtained or recreated. Once available, copy the table to PIPE-FLO's TABLES directory path. To locate this path, on the PIPE-FLO menu select TOOLS then PREFERENCES. The TABLES directory path is listed in the File Locations box.
If the custom pipe table is not available, it can be recreated using the Table Manager program. To start the Table Manager program, on the PIPE-FLO menu select TOOLS then DATA TABLES. For information on how to create a pipe table, refer to Knowledge Base article 1327.
The recreated pipe size table must contain (at a minimum) all of the sizes that are used in the Piping System file. To determine the data needed to build the table:
- Display the Pipe List
- Note the pipelines using the specification in the message
- Record all pipe sizes specified by these pipelines
- Display the Pipeline Design Data for one pipeline of each size
- Record the data listed in the Pipe box on the Specifications tab
- Record the Size: and (inside diameter) for each pipe size
